Meet the team

Liz Norton

Grad. Dip. Phys. MCSP

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 1985 from Wolverhampton School of Physiotherapy and soon began specialising in the treatment of Adults with Neurological Disabilities. I worked in the NHS until 1998, and then left to set myself up in private practice, where I have continued to develop my clinical skills and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of patients with different neurological conditions. These include patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Head Injury, Parkinson’s, Spinal Injuries, Brain Tumours, Sensory Peripheral Neuropathies and those patients who are experiencing difficulties with Balance/Walking.

I am Advanced Bobath Trained and actively continue to develop my clinical skills and knowledge. The treatments that I offer are very much “hands on” and I encourage and support my patients with home exercise programmes: this could be in the more formal setting of a gym or an informal exercise programme to do in the home.

I first started to work at The Cloisters in 2006 until March 2020 when I went to work in Guernsey at The Princess Elizabeth Hospital, working in a complex neurological outpatient role for nearly 2 years. In January 2022 I returned to the UK and I am thoroughly enjoying being back working with The Cloisters team again.
